What does faith look like? In my forty years of life I have come to find that faith is definitely not a feeling, Certainly not that. Faith is believing without seeing. Faith is moving forward in a tough situation and chosing love anyway. Faith is tears running down your face. Faith is the heart-felt prayer for a loved one. Faith is courage in the lion’s den. Faith is getting on your knees because there is nothing left to do but that. Faith is not a feeling. Faith is an action. Faith is a powerful word to those that feel lost. Faith is a mom that believes for her kid when they can’t.

Grace. Oh grace! Where would we be without precious grace. Grace and faith are best friends. I am sure of it. How much grace I have been shown in my life.  Thank you Lord for your grace.  Where would I be without it?

Dear reader, I want to encourage you today to embrace faith and grace. Gods love is big enough for whatever you are facing. His grace is sufficient for you, his power is made perfect in weakness. (2 Corinthians 12:9).

I recently have had to confront an ugly situation in my life. I did not confront it with love. I confronted it with years and years of confusion and anger. And my eyes have been opened. And in the process I am finding myself. I am walking into my calling. Today, I am choosing faith and grace. I am choosing love over hate. Faith is not a feeling. Faith is putting your best foot forward and trusting that your creator sees and knows your heart. Forgiveness abounds. He has got you. Come and rest. Come and rest. Come and rest.

My prayer is that faith and grace will overflow in your life. That you will begin to live a life of faith. And that as you live a life of faith you allow grace to show up. Because we all need grace. And out of faith and grace love will spill into your life and the lives of others.  In Jesus name.

Faith Not Fear

I heard this term used by a pastor several years back. This was the life mantra of a young lady that lost her life in a car accident. I did not know this woman but her words have come back to visit me often in life. “Faith not fear.” What would I do without my faith? I am not sure I could have made it this far. I have definitely walked some valleys in my life. And I have also sat on the top of mountains and celebrated. God was with me in the valleys and also on the mountain top. He has cried with me and He has celebrated with me. There have been times I have walked away from his presence. There have been times that I have not lived my best life. I would go to bed at night and know I was not living my best life. I would know that I was jeopardizing eternity. And yet….. I would go to sleep. I would wake up and do it again. I would fall short. Yet I have always come back. I am always being pursued by my creator. He is so very patient. He has a patience for me that I do not deserve.

When I get out of my own way my heart grows sensitive. When I get out of my own way my eyes are opened to the hurting world that is around me. When I get out of my own way my spirit awakens. My soul seeks Him. Faith not fear.

Fear is an old friend that likes to bring his friends anxiety and depression with him. Fear is rude and intrusive. Fear does not care what your name is. Fear does not care how old you are. Fear will make you believe things that are not true. Fear is a liar. Why do we grow so comfortable with fear in the driver’s seat? Why are we ok to open our hearts to fear? Dear reader, take hold, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. John 4:4 (NIV).

You do not have to walk this journey alone. You were made for such a time as this. You are here on purpose. There is a plan for your life. Get out of your own way. Let God in. Let him do his thing. Walk with Him. Quiet yourself. Listen. Faith not fear.
